Have we outgrown this board?

I was just wondering what some of the regulars think about the recurring discussions raised time and again by new members - not that I'm criticising them, 'cos we've all been down that route.

But, perhaps Bladezone should get it's own FAQ together (I know BRMovie.com already has one) - we could then gently push new fans in that direction first so that we're not going through the same cycle of discussion time and time again.

Or if not a 'fully blown' FAQ what about a section aimed specifically at 'recurring forum topics' - a sort of 'yep, been there, here's what we decided...' type section.

Actually, I've decided for the short term to move 'Deckard Replicant / Human' discussions to it's own forum - this seems to the favourite topic of discussion for new fans - I'll open it up later today...

What do you think?

The "Deckard-Human or Replicant" catagory should be a welcomed addition to these boards,I think. Keeps all that stuff in one place for easy access. Good idea,Richard 8)

Well, you could just point people to the BRmovie FAQ .... It isn't just intended for denizens of alt.fan.blade-runner but is intended for the whole BR community. New ideas for improving it are always welcome and I for one would be quite happy if the section referencing BR on the Web were expanded to contain details of the Forums, etc. Not to mention updates from all BR fans on the entire content.
We are all one happy family aren't we? All suggestions welcome. :D

NOTHIN AS GOOD

Hello

I have only just found Bladezone but have been a Blade Runner addict since I first saw the film.

The idea to have a F.A.Q section is excellent as this will prevent us `newies` from as you say going over old ground.

Once I have read through everything there is, I will return.

Thanks for a very interesting forum

The endless debate of deciding Deckard is human or a replicant. What side do we really choose and what differences do we support?
It was a sparkling thing to see the "trite" moved to another location in the forum.

well, im thinking we just leaver it as it it. i mean, what else are we going to talk about ? isnt that what these forums are for, gettings you questions answered ?

i understand that the same human/rep. question has come up numerous times, but in that case, we should just re-direct the post starter to a previous post or FAQ.

i like the idea of when you register, have a "required reading" part for newcomers, where you explain the "search before you ask" thing. of course, for some people, this wont get to them. i mean, when i go to google and search and search and search, all i get is crap. nothing what im searching for. so i come here. but if you're trying to lighten things up, i think a little "required reading" wont hurt, would it ? just when the people are registering, have a nive friendly message direct them to the blade zone FAQ before they start posting garbage.

I think it's a good idea. Although I've found that on most forums, people will ignore the stickies and ask the question anyway.

Oh well.

BLADE RUNNER F.A.Q.

DECKARD,

I find such things very useful, since I often find answers to questions I would not have thought to ask.

Different perspectives are always good, particularly in the realm of Speculative Fiction. 8)

Speak for yourself... i've just been busy at work. The BR Chronicles fan film is getting back on track now that the hurricanes are finished with Florida.

There's actually more Blade Runner activity going on IMDB than here. The fun part is that haters also post their opinions, of course. Keeps it alive, I guess.
