I read that Barbara Hershey was to be cast, but had a conflict with the shooting schedule and had to bow out. It was her idea ( that was put into the script) about the spider that was eaten by theoffspring. Barbara really saw this happen as a child and mentioned it to someone. That was put in as one of Rachel's memories.

Am I right in thinking Barbara Hershey was involved with Hampton Fancher for a while? I think thats in Future Noir but regardless she was a stunner (and probably still is).

If time wasn't an issue here...I would say Jessica Alba. If anything at all, look at her eyes.

I always thought the spider bit was a wonderful metaphor for the film. Replicants, which are the children of man in a very scientific kind of way, killing their own father. I can't see the film with anyone else as Rachel.

I'll tell you what, there is an actress today who I would cast as Sarah Tyrell (Rachel's templant) in a heartbeat if I was making a sequel. Paget Brewster. Lit properly, she looks an aweful lot like Sean Young anyway. She's in a super hero spoof called "The Specials", among a million indy films.
