Unicorn "origami"

Hi all,

In the Director's Cut, when Deckard was about to escape with Rachel, he found a unicorn "origami" on the floor of his apartment. Does this scene exist in the original version? I only watched the original once. Anyone?

Yes indeed, this scene is in both versions. In the DC, this is also the final scene before the subtitles. In the original version this scene is followed by the "green happy ending" - Rachael and Deckard are escaping north in a car though the beatiful mountain landscape.

(DC version) I guess everything fits, since Gaff makes those little things for every occasion.

In fact, I suspect the origami making to be largely responsible for BR's status as a classic. Think about it!

I agree with you, but doesnt it apply only to the DC version? The unicorn thingy dont really make any sense in the original.

1) In the TC we know Gaff was there and spared Rachel's life.

2) In the DC we know Gaff was there and spared Rachel's life and at the same time we are hinted that the hunter is hunting his own kind.

True, that's a big difference! But in either version, I can't imagine the movie to be the same without the origami shots. It's a terrific contribution.

I never thought of that :) I guess that's what makes BR such a great classic.
