I discovered Blade Runner because of Harrison Ford, to me he is the best actor ever. So I started collecting all his action movies (the fugitive, patriot games, clear and present danger, witness etc.) and I came across Blade Runner, now I had heard of it but I didn't know to much about it, so my friend had a copy of it and I borrowed it. I watched it and actually I stopped in the middle because I really just didn't like it (it was the DC) it made no sense to me. But then strange enough I asked for it for my birthday, and I got it. Then I watched it multiple times and it clicked in what it was all about. I then discovered Future Noir and bought it, and then I came across a original version of blade runner, and here I am today.

What is your story?

P.S. Am I the only one who cannot wait at all for the Blade Runner: SE DVD?

Tim

I absolutely cannot wait for the DVD Special Edition! I REALLY hope the Workprint will be included because I am starving for the fabled deleted footage.

I was about 12 and say the video and was a bit confused but as a big fan of 2000AD comic I appreciated the imagery. 5 years later I was hunting around Danos video shop and picked up Blade Runner.."Starring Harrison Ford". Will I rent it?.. ah may as well..not remembering the name of that weird movie I saw when I was 12.
Later that night I was blown away and its been my favourite movie for the last 13 years..

After seeing the first release with the voice over, it took me ages to stop playing the voice over in my mind when watching the Directors Cut.
Did anyone else think the same way?

SpookyBoy - yes, sort of. I appreciated the fact you could hear the announcers..Lets go to the colonies!.. but sort of missed the noir voice-over, where you hear about cityspeak..don't miss that ending though!

[ This Message was edited by: The Dark Knight on 2003-01-03 05:29 ]

Well I own Red Alert: Command and Conquer. I had it since it came out. Well I used to watch the game previews and on there was a preview for the game version of Bladerunner. I always thought that was the greatest and coolest looking thing ever.
Then in high school it was on Sci-Fi channel and I recognized the refineries from the game commercial. So I watched it. Day after that I rented it, bought it the day after that. I have been hooked since my freshman year.
DVD
VHS
SCRIPT
SOUNDTRACK
(Almost Everything)
WAKE UP NEO. . .
THE MATRIX HAS YOU . . .
FOLLOW THE WHITE RABBIT. . .
---------------------------------------------
-IS THIS TESTING WHETHER I'M A REPLICANT OR A LESBIAN MR. i put off seeing this movie until i was twenty five, mainly because harrison ford is the most overrated actor ever. then my friend aaron told me tht it was one of the worst movies ever and i shouldn't watch it. then i signed up for a sci-fi class at my school and found it a required film. after watching it, i decided it is oneof the better sci fi films ever, even harrison ford couldn't ruin this movie. i really liked what the film said about exploitation of non humans. somehow this is a definition that always seems to change. i thought that the ability to reason was what seperates humans from other animals. judging by this definition, the replicants are human.
