The Unicorn

I moved the original topic, "the unicorn", to a temporary home. Moderating needs to be in order. I'll address the issues I have with the last few replys in that topic later...when I have more time.

But, I'd like to communicate one issue now. Resurrecting old threads is encouraged. That is one of the main reasons for keeping the old topics in the forums. Duplicating topics is not only irritating, but a waste of effort and time.

More comments from yours truly to follow.

After thinking this through, I decided to delete the "original" unicorn post. The last few posts in it were grossly misinterpreted by those responding to one another.

Point:

# 1. Resurrecting old threads is encouraged.

# 2. The initial "spark" that set off this incident was, as I read it, not at all meant to offend or belittle anyone.

# 3. We have Moderators in this forum. Off-World Forum members, please do not take it upon yourself to attempt to moderate if you are not directly involved with the issue or dispute at hand. Either they will work it out, or a Moderator will address the issue.

As one forum member put it so well, "The main thing I've always loved about these boards was the fact that 99.9% of the people who frequent them are cordial and polite." That is true. But, every-so-often we have a matter that requires some intervention. With the activity this forum has had the last year, it's bound to happen. So, let's move on! And let's enjoy some more invigorating conversations!

F.Y.I. -> The original unicorn topic was a forum member thinking aloud about the unicorn left by Gaff, posted in 2001. It was then perverted with a "Deck-a Rep" challenge. And it grew from there.
