it kind of saddens me (or sickens me) to see bootleg copies going as official releases, and being held as collectors items. they are not collectors items, they are bootlegs. i wish someone would just release the music to the public for all the blade runner fans to dondle over. we need a new hype in the blade runner community.

im itching to get my hands on a copy of the music, but im not going to fork over the money to a bootlegger for a bootlegged soundtrack, seeing as how that whole stolen bladezone content went about on ebay a few months ago. (no, i cannot drop it)

ENOUGH !
OK folks I think that's enough.
Whatever the debate about the set I bought; let's agree at least on one thing ....that the music is fantastic, it sounds great whatever version you have and thank God we have it in our collections to enjoy and to pass on to our children !
PS. Do you guys in the UK ever get together?

Thanks for listening,
Paul.
Paul.
[sarcasm] yes, let's thank God all 29 of us with the soundtrack can pass it on to our children [/sarcasm] its really hard to all agree that its fantastic, when only 3 of us on the forums have ever heard of it.
we never had an official gathering, but there's another thread about a bladezone gathering if youll search for it. it was quite some time ago.

This 4 CD set has certainly caused a stir. As far as I can tell it's the MK2 (2CD set) with a few editorial nips and tucks - the latter is available on many torrent sites or through the Yahoo group. As has been mentioned in this thread, although the sound quality is good, the sounce material is not from any original master tapes. The 3rd disk is the easily available LA November 2019 and the 4th disc seems to be a compilation of the Japanese Deck Art release with some of Frank Klepacki's game soundtrack thrown in for good measure.
It's great collection - but I certainly wouldn't pay the ?500 plus I've seen it go for on ebay.

Now that we have a listing, what we really need is for someone to pack it up, nice and neat and tidy into organized folders, create a torrent, post it and seed it dammit! If you don't know how to do this, I'd be more than willing to help you. Send me a pm, or better yet, find me on AIM.
OMG, Bit Torrent rules...
i got ahold of the mk2 torrent. it was a 600 mb download, which was jsut the 2 cds duplicated over and over. it was only necessary to download 150MB. but, i have both cds. i think we should reseed a new torrent with them in mp3 format (i ripped them with the higest bitrate) im sure we can get the frank klepacki songs off his website via that streaming player he has. after that, i think the only problem will be getting the john williams track.

super rare huh? super pirated and super good job with the graphics. i need to get ahold of the album art for those.
quite expensive, i wonder whose so desperate for those. not really a collectors item when its an illegal copy, as i said earlier. all i want is an mp3 copy and the album art, i dont want one of those hard copies. album art makes for good wallpapers, and mp3 files make for good listening in the car.

I've got the John Williams track - I'm utterly crap with Torrents but I've encoded it at 320 and posted it on a webstorage site where you can download it.
Go to http://webstorage.btinet.net/
log in using the following case sensitive email address and password
[email protected]
blade
Select the file, right mouse click and select "save target as"
It's as easy as that....Enjoy
Please don't share this login info outside the forum
Alternatively if one of you guys has a decent connection, I can email it to one of you to share. However the encoded file is a smidge over 6.5MB
Indulge me

With regard to the 'super rare releases' on ebay, with the exception of the Gongo release you can get the album art for them off the Yahoo Blade Runner website.
If you're ebay watching there's also another variation of the Esper doing the rounds called Esper Analysis.

It seems to be a copy of the Esper with the Ladd Company Logo music added. - nice packaging.

$260 !!!!! away and shite mate !!
Ive got the standard Sound track you get in the shops plus good quality
versions of most of the tracks from the "off-world" album.
I'm not interested in a full version of the blimpvert song at all its crap IMO
and doesnt feature in the film.
wounded animals too it drags on and on ,so i did some editing myself and it
sounds great.
Of course i would like to hear all 4 cds to see if theres anything worth keeping but i'm not going to pay $260 to find out !

The Esper CD's are probably the best of this bunch. The LA2019 is unique because it's really an ambient soundtrack where the music takes a backseat to the effects ...rain, street chatter and spinners zooming overhead. But whatever you do don't ever listen to the LA2019 CD while driving - you'll nod off!
Indulge me
the esper cds have pretty good music. repeated tracks though, like memories of green is on there twice (an "ugly" copy and the BR movie copy). thats the only peeve i have for the esper.
if you'd like to find out how to obtain the esper soundtrack, you might want to look around the web for torrents.
