Hi Guys,
Here is the response from Dave who was the ebay seller of the 'Special Esper Collectors Edition' BR soundtrack:
Hello Paul
I have just read your emails and have the following comments:
First of all people seem to have entitled it the ?MK3? which can I correct
people in saying that it isn?t. It does not say MK3 on any of the CDs or
covers. It is the Definitive Collectors Edition of the Esper Edition.
I can assure you that the music is not sourced from mp3 bootlegs. From what
I have gathered the MK2 and the Definitive Collectors Edition are all based
on the original Esper Edition that was not sourced from mp3 either. Then
the MK2 and the Definitive Collectors Edition have been edited to ?improve?
on the previous version, just like Ridley Scott did to the movie when he
brought out his Director?s Cut.
Vangelis did not release all his music so the Esper Editions are a chance
for people to hear it unofficially in the best way possible. The original
Esper Edition, the LA Nov 2019 CD, the MK2 and Collectors Edition are all
made my Esper Productions.
I start bidding at 1p and then it is up to whoever bids to make the end
price. It can go for 1p or not sell at all ? that is up to eBay buyers.
Club Compilations ? I don?t know what is meant by that. I have sold other
rare promo CDs in the past if that is what is meant.
I am not a member of any blade runner forum. This forum that you a member
of can investigate the Collectors Edition as much as they like. To me they
just sound bitter about not owning a copy. I must point out that I
regularly do CD-r copy trades with members of a soundtrack site where we
exchange scores. I am not the kind of person to rip people off and if
anyone had contacted me for a cd-r copy of the Definitive Esper Edition then
I would have done it. However, reading the comments these people have
written it makes me sad to hear people are like this so I do not think I
will make any cd-r copies of this particular set. It will obviously make
your copy all the more rare and collectable and I am glad that you are happy
with it and proud to own such a rare item. I share all my rare music to
anyone who can offer me something in return, in the way of cd-r trades. Eg.
Lets say that you have a copy of Blade Runner MK10 and I want a
copy. I would then contact you to see if you would trade with me. Lets say
that you wanted the Deck Art release of Blade Runner that I had, then we
could set up a trade. I am also a member of a score forum. where people can
join and share the score CDs that they have with the world through
downloading. I have released a few scores, one of them being Blade Runner
Deck Art release that cost me quite a lot of money (over ?100) but I am
sharing it so that people can get it free. That is the kind of person I am.
In regards to your email RE: Thinking of Rachel ? only the Esper Edition,
Esper MK2 and Definitive Collectors Esper Edition feature this track, with
the latter release that you have having the best sound quality bar far.
Esper MK2 and your Collectors Edition are the only Blade Runner CDs to have
the full intro to the film, aka Main Tiles and Prologue, without sound
effects as they are original studio recordings. Yes, my neck hairs stand on
end when listening to it.
Thanks for contacting me Paul and letting me know what people are like. I
do not think I will sell any more 4CD sets of Blade Runner if this is the
reception it gets.
Dave.
Thanks for listening,
Paul.
