more "glammed" up. As have most of hollywood Dirs including Ridley to some degree. I think partialy because these directors have become so used to people that are all made up every day that it has become "real" to them. So they can not see the difference like a regular person would.

It is part of what Ridley called "visual layering" by adding authentic magazines and all kinds of other small details to make a set look actually lived in. after ET, speilberg also started making his actors look too good with make up and such. I know in AI he made his main characters robots and therefore more perfect, but all his movies have become

The only movie that Speilberg has worked on that wasn't "glammed up" was Schindler's List-- which is one of the reasons I like it so much.
Ridley Scott done his "layering" in all his films. It is esspecially evident in BR and Alien because these are visions of the future. In his more recent work, the layering is there but it is less evident because the movies are more focused on present day situations.
But I degress.... I still don't think I've seen another BR style movie with as much attentiont to detail.
