I'm not sure why 'sedan', Ridleynoir. Its a US term.

If you look at the Bladezone pic (which IS the scene where Deckard gets out of his car at Sebastians) the body of the car is maroon, part of the roof and the boot/trunk area seem to be bronze and theres also a yellowy-orange bit around the frame of the door.

Watch the scene as he gets out of the car, light passes over it momentarily. You can see the orangey door frame and the maroon of the body next to it.

Here's a still from the HD version but its best if you see the thing in motion.

one final reference that MangaMax might want to look it is the ERTL sedan which isn't very detailed but finished allover in a deep 'brownish' maroon colour.

Good luck anyway, i'd like to see it cos it seems to have been neglected by the various model makers.

Ta for the above guys.
The more info that's being unearthed, the more complex it seems to get :?
So, NOW i'm going with a maroony colour for the bottom and either a bronze or orange for the top.
I'm just cleaning up the parts right now but when i start building it i can post pics if you like?

Inspiration...?

I always felt that Mr. Mead's design for the police/Deckard's ground car may have been at least somewhat inspired by the Lotus Esprit, most famous for it's appearances in the Roger Moore James Bond films. This car also had the "gull wing" doors and a similar shape.

In fact, one of these cars that appeared in For Your Eyes Only (1981) had a similar exterior color:

and, as I recall, it was a fairly popular color for cars at the time.

Taking nothing away from Syd's design, a Lotus Esprit (properly grimed and accessorized, of course) wouldn't look out of place in L.A. 2019.

Without a doubt it was an influence. That and the Delorean.

I've never been much of car or Bond fan but my die-cast Lotus Esprit with all the Bond add-ons was at the time the best toy i'd ever owned.

Here you go with some shots of the Sedan kit.
It's a true garage kit, about 1/35th scale (which'll be handing for diorama building and with some very nice detail.
Shame the windows are part of the body and not clear.
Nowhere near good enough to gauge it out and build an interior:

And on this diagonal bar there's no sign of the piping affair, so ditto:

Am very pleased with this area which, once cleaned up, is very accurate:
