There are freeware tools that will extract the music for you - I can't remember the names, so you'll have to do a little digging...

You'd probably be better off buying (or downloading, if you're that way inclined) the soundtrack, as most of the game's music is taken from there.

Who said no one can rely on extracting the music? I've got great samples but stupid AOL has the limit of sending attachments so I really can't send them. The samples I've got are converted to stereo and digitally remastered. Since the game music is mono, I got to convert it to Stereo giving it a "CD" quality sound. Go to your search engine and search for "XXC Mixer".
Its a file that is orinally used to mix graphics and copy files from Westwood released games. And with this program I've got one of the rarest unreleased game music ever. "Tiberian Sun" "Dune 2000" "Renegade"

Check for CD Burning websites and look to download some wave editors programs. After you download it, run the program and convert the Sample to Stereo 16 Bit.
Right now I've got Nero Wave Editor, search the keyword Nero Wave Editor if you can. I don't think the search would be sucessful but give it a try.

Is that XCC mixer a little download of 4 files program that changes some keys in the registry? Is it safe?

Look Centauro, the XCC mixer was designed generally for creating and modifying skins for the game done by Westwood : Command and Conquer Renegade
It unlocks files and data from games done by Westwood. You could create initial files and adjust the games for the Command and Conquer Sequels. However, you can also unlock game music such as all those games I listed above.
There is no harm to your computer, it won't screw it around. Since the music files are Aud. Files and are Mono, I left clicked on the music and I copied it into a WAV into a folder in my computer, then I could convert and so on.
If you want to play the game music, then download the XCC Mixer for Command and Conquer Renegade, it will do nothing to your hard drive if only you copy files around.
Hey...

I've always wondered about how I could extract the music from the game, cos it's not exactly the same one as the Vangelis soundtrack of the movie - it's more mysterious. I love it. I'm gonna try that program you suggested though, and am hoping it would work.

Izo

Izo, the game music done by westwood is sort of a enhancement or remix done by the outstanding composer working for Westwood Studios. He created new songs under the style of Vangelis and reenhanced many orginal Blade Runner soundtracks.

Remember, the XCC Mixer is only designed for the hit series "Command and Conquer Renegade'. If you want the music files copied to your specific folder, Left click it and copy it as WAV.

_________________

What are you looking at....Skin Job!!!??

[ This Message was edited by: Anti-Rep Warmachine on 2003-04-12 17:26 ]
