cannot save in blade runner windows xp

The game runs fine but i cannot save the game it keeps giving me an error
here are my system stats
amd athalon xp 2800+ 2.083GHZ
ATI radeon X800xl
1GB Samsung PC3200 DDR

It's more or likely another XP problem, Blade Runner was originally made for 95 & 98.
But to help you out more what does the error say? and what happens afterwards?

it says error saving game and then nothing
no matter what i type in to it as a name it wont save

Have you tried the
patch?
Try scanning your hard drive for errors, it may fix the problem.

ran full scan on hdd no errors and yes the patch was the first thing i tried
could it be the fact that it is installed on my secondary harddisk?

Nah, having it installed on a secondary hdd shouldn't have any effect what so ever. Unless, if its a USB hdd your talking about then yes, it probably will have a problem running the game (I've heard nothing good about USB drives)
Have you tried re-installing the game?
Updating drivers (Graphics,Sound etc...)
Latest version of Direct X?
Also try disabling as many programs as possible while running the game, they tend to interfere.

FIXED
Open your Blade Runner directory, WESTWOOD\Blade Runner\ then create a folder here called Save.
Try and see if it works
