I dreamt music ?

Has anyone noticed track 11 on this page...

http://www.bladezone.com/contents/film/ ... _sound.php

it has the Rachel piano thing going on but in the minor key instead of major

where does that come form ? it also sounds like the start of the Martin Gresh song that was used in the Lexus car advert.....'open heart zoo' (Beautiful song it is too)

One other thing ,i've been a massive BR fan since it first came out and thought i new the movie inside out.....then this line i see keeps poping up ...'i dreamt music'......i found it quite funny as i always thought he said

'how d'you right music ?' instead......lol

This track was on a compilation CDR of BR Soundtrack rarities that I put together especially for host Rob Daniels to use in his BR 20th Anniversary Radio Program. The piece heard here comes from the screening print of BR that was shown to audiences in March of 1982. This print of the movie was cut together before Vangelis completed the final score and as a result you hear some pieces that were refined or replaced in the final release. This musical piece is completely redone in the theatrical release and features the more familiar sax-centered "Love Theme". The piano theme is also different and as you mention is indeed in a minor key rather than the major key piece that graced the theatrical release. Terry Rawlings (the editor) stated in Future Noir that the original minor key piece is a "variation on the slow movement of Ravel's Piano Concerto". There is speculation that the final piece is an homage to Chopin. I also have a version of this piece without the dialog, although having the dialog really gives you an idea of where the soundtrack cue was placed in the scene.

*cracks open the Blade Runner FAQ*

"Notes on the various pieces were interesting like the fact that the Love Theme and Rachael's piano playing are a variation on Chopin's 13th Nocturne. "
