I agree that Neuromancer as a film should have been made ages ago. Its still a great book, but not so easy to make into a film. I have been hearing rumours of the movie for years now, and don't know of anybody including Cunningham and Gibson, actually saying they weren't going to do it any more.<BR><BR>There was an old script written by somebody else, but you can ignore that. Last I heard, Gibson and Cunningham were working on getting the script right, but if they are still doing this, they must have come across some major difficulties as they were already doing that a couple of years ago. It would still be conceivable if they really focused on the human aspects. <BR><BR>The problem is, if they focus on the human aspects and tell studios there won't be lots of high tech gadgetry all over the screen all the time, then studios probably won't give them the money. If they capitulate to studio demands, you'll just end up with another Johnny Mnemonic. I'd rather the film wasn't made than have the story sullied that way.
