Blade Runner 4 Eye and Talon...latest book by K.W. Jeter. I finished reading it today. I read the other ones by him as well. This book is better than them (Blade Runner 2 The Edge of Human, and Blade Runner Replicant Night).<BR><BR>I will not give away any major details/plot so...read on...<BR><BR>This book ties in with the other ones...but can be read without having read them. It's not as "Flashback-ed" as "Replicant Night". <BR><BR>And...the Blade Runner is a woman. <BR><BR>The start of the book does not appear very promising. But then it picks up. In my minds vision I pictured Angelina Jolie as the Blade Runner ("Iris"). Another character appears in the book named "Vogel"...and the actor I associated with that character was Jeff Goldblum.<BR><BR>The first half of the book was VERY interesting...some of the visions...scenes...and "devices" and what-not....GREAT material for a movie. I was excited...thinking, finally a new way to present another Blade Runner movie !<BR><BR>I simply could not put the book down! <BR><BR>However....the second half of the book...for me, was a big disappointment. My visions of Jolie and Goldblum were shattered. As Jeter had done with the other sequals, he redefined and twisted the Blade Runner movie as we know it to his liking. A shame. I had to force my way to read through a great portion of the last quarter.<BR><BR>Any one else have any opinions or feelings about this...or the other sequals by Jeter?

I consider that burning books is a crime against mankind, but if I had to burn some books in order to save my own life (for some strange reason, I don't know what one)I wouldn't mind burning Jetter's so-called Blade Runner sequels.

I enjoyed the first one for what it was - quick, light entertainment. I thought he did a good job of catching the mood & atmosphere, and I just kind of ignored things like Pris being human. <BR><BR>I thought the other two, however, were less enjoyable. There seemed to be just way too much effort in turning incredibly small minute details of the film into legitimate sequel plot points. When I have read The Edge of Human for the first time, I was impressed, but later the impression faded and after I got enough of the conspiracy plot, I realized that the characters are flat like pizza.<BR><BR>Replicant Night was lame from the very begginning to the very end. Jeter was obviously constructing the plot while being on the toilet.<BR><BR>Of course I'll buy the lattest sequel, although more from "duty" to have the series complete than from the real interest. <BR><BR>

Moreover, Centauro, if the world were to suddenly find its self in a toilet-paper shortage, well...you can take a guess at what I'd recommend we all use first...<BR><BR><BR><BR><BR><BR>
