Hmm... I guess Taffey told Loui, (or some other guy) something like "go tell Salome there's a cop around asking questions about her. I don't want any problems, at least in here..."<BR><BR>It could even have been Taffey himself, as we see there is a brief moment before the snake dance begins, the moment Deck goes to the vid phone. That'd be my guess.

Well, if you go with the theory that Deckard is a rep and was one of the 6 that escaped, Zhora could tell that Dec was a Blade Runner, as she knew him as a rep, and when she relized he wasn't jokeing around, he whacked him.

Damn that Deckard one of the six theory! It doesn't make any sense.<BR><BR>I doubt Taffey or anyone else told her, because I doubt anyone there knew. I don't even see that Zhora knew who he was when he walked into her dressing room. My impession has always been that she figured out who he was on the basis of his suspicious actions, bad acting and stupid questions. It is my impression that in the shower she figures it out and then starts working out what to do about it.<BR><BR>Obviously when she says "You're a dedicated man," she is being sarcastic. But if she knew straightaway, would she really have delayed so long before attacking him? She could have done him in and taken his coat and legged it immediately.<BR>

If my presence on Earth were illegal and thus made me subject to retirement (not to mention that I was a trained killer anyway), I would suspect most anybody who came poking around, especially some goofy-assed guy who spoke with a nasal accent and claimed to be affiliated with the Confidential Committee of Moral Abuses. I think it was sheer instinct.

I think Deckard was the missing replicant. <BR><BR>Remember that Batty and Pris also knew that Deckard was a Blade Runner

I can't buy that he was the missing replicant theory...not just because I am familliar with "mary" the 6th replicant that was cut from the movie according to Future Noir...but also that would mean that he would have been familiar with them as well...unless his brain was wiped. But on a similar note ....since Blade runners were a type of replicant or clone they also probably looked alike(I.E. why holden was similar in appearance to deckard)therefore easy to spot.

Well Ridley Scott did come out and say that Deckard was a replicant. I was a bit miffed over it since I think Dick should of really been the one to say whether he was or wasn't. Although, even if he was, still doesn't mean he was the 6th because the 6 weren't implanted with memories.

once again, Scott has said that while he may have meant for deckard to be a replicant, it was supposed to be up to the viewer to decide for themselves.

I'm sure she guessed! She is hiding with a death sentence on her head, and Deckard is acting strangely. Unless there is someone on the cutting room floor, I think your reading too much into the scene. You've seen the scene too many times <IMG SRC="/forum/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif"> I think the Deckard as a replicant is kind of too much too.

I cringe whenever I hear someone say Deckard was the 6th rep! After a bit of researching, one will clearly see that he wasn't.<BR><BR>As to Zora knowing, I'll agree with her keen intuition and Deckard's cheesy behavior that gave him away.<BR><BR>

If they fix one thing for the special edition, it better be Bryant saying 5 replicants jumped a freakin' shuttle off world!

I would hope that those of you who believe that Deck is a Rep (I personally can't decide either way) should see that there is no way for him to be the 6th rep! I mean, perhaps he was made same gen as Rachel, but the inconsistancies with the 6th rep theory are laughable.<BR><BR>Paul

In my experience of discussing BR for years with people around the world, the Deckard as Sixth Rep gets very little credibility. Obviously the Deck-a-Human camp rejects it by definition, but it seems to me that the majority of Deck-a-Reppers also reject that particular variation. Yes, the theory is full of holes even if you can get beyond the obvious fact that it is a continuity problem.<BR><BR>Question is, why did Scott allow the continuity problem to go through to the final version even though he had recorded an overdub that would correct it?<BR><BR>And will the "error" still be in the BR:SE?<BR><BR>_________________<BR>Visit <!-- BBCode u2 Start --><A HREF="http://www.BRmovie.com" TARGET="_blank">BRmovie.com</A><!-- BBCode u2 End --> - Web home of alt.fan.blade-runner, the current FAQ, news, BR Encyclopedia, Analysis, BR Game info, BR comic, fan fiction and lots more!<BR><BR><font size=-1>[ This Message was edited by: BRmovie on 2002-07-28 10:20 ]</font>
