2019: brought to you by Microsoft

Here's a link to a different take on 2019, the year of the Blade Runner. Of course, this is a way different future, closer to Minority Report than anything seen in Blade Runner. Things are immaculately clean and green and people manipulate huge screens with hand gestures. This was produced for a recent Microsoft Office conference, so of course, everyone's using some sort of future version of Windows instead of Esper OS or whatever the Esper runs on. It's fascinating. Not likely to become reality in exactly the way they predict, but a fascinating take regardless.
Yes, I really live in Los Angeles. Srsly. And yeah, life really does imitate art here. Especially now we've got those video billboards. No spinners yet. But I suppose that's next.

Clean and green? Captain Planet would be proud.

Wanna know about the computers of 2019? Go watch an ancient James Coburn film, "The President's Analyst". It's not as funny as it was when released, but the basic premise seems like a good guess (revealed in a commercial near the end of the movie). I won't do a spoiler, so you'll just have to sit through it.

Times like this I wish I was skilled enough with the Linux to roll my own distro. Right now I am stuck back in Windows out of sheer laziness and convenience. But the Lunix is the way..

Esper Linux, anyone? Someone better not make one and then screw it up though, is all I can say.. Way too many dead, inaccessible or poor quality Linux's out there already.

It's my heart. It feels like an alligator.
