The Voight Kampf Empathy Test

Hello,

I just wonder HOW is it possible that after three days of searching throught the net, I still didn't find out there a fan-made VK Test software..

(like a small program in java/shockwave.. or other)

So, if any of you have ever heard of a VK prog (with questions, etc..), guys, please, let me know (I should have some sleep instead of still searching  )

The two things I already found :
- A 'real' VK machine, you can find some pictures on the net
- Fake interview of some politician on the net (funny ones..)

That's it. But no software :?

Any one with more informations ? :P

Thanks a lot,

Michael

you'd need something that "understands" what you say and reacts depending to what answers you give it. how you think it's possible to do something like that?

I am going to school for a bachelors in programming and I don't think its possible because so many people have different answers and every body is unique a program would have to know the definition and human meaning of every word out there,

to me its clearly impossible to make software for VKing

Well, of course the point it's not to have the machine 'really' reacting to answers. It isn't possible. Simple as that. But..
Point it's to have a fake version of VK that you could use in reality "just for the atmosphere".

I would 'imagine' the soft like this :

- You run the exe. configure it with setup. (choosing either the color of the eyes, difficulty, if replicant or not.. or with '?' choices -meaning soft choose for you if you do not wanna know)

Then, during Test

- Display on screen is the VK display (most of the screen is an eye moving.. from the color you choose -so it correspond to the guy who is answering) Sound like pulse, machine script, etc
- It would interrogate (or better only have some questions to read in archive -or make read by the br you are).

- As long as status of the person isn't determinated :
1 replicant
2 human
3 too difficult (Rachael needed around 100 questions..)

..you go through..

Remember : point of VK is "no matter what are the answers.. it's just a matter of time of reaction" So you could easily pretend by 'playing role' that, through questions and answers, VK Test is really testing you... :)

You give good answers, but VK determine you are a Replicant. So you could be a level 6 or 7. You don't give good answers, but VK determine you are human being. You must be a dumb like :)

Well..hope christmas's coming soon :)

oh well, i understand. if it's just for the atmosphere, then i'd love it!

and regarding the eye to be displayed on the monitor, the software could be made to allow realtime images coming from real input devices such as webcams or whatever, you aim it onto the interviewee's eye and you got his eye on the monitor. of course his head should stand still in place!

Ok well then I could see that happen especially with a web cam or video camera with realtime input that would be cool but i notice in the movie when Leon was being VKed he moved his head a lot so maybe a camera that moved with motion to track their eye

Maybe if the actual hard code of the game was available you could find the VK Code and it most likely a class so it could function on its own with the right parameters that the class calls.

VK technology in the real world, huh? Now there's a piece of software.

Microsoft Empathy Test. HA! Love it.

Lots of real people would get killed with that... and lots of reps would get away too. It would make the Blade Runner profession almost a chance game!

hey i actually made a VK machine website a while back on a geocities website.. It was just a fancy design and some nostalgic questions. I would read the answers of the participants and decide whether they were skin jobs or not then send them the verdict.. kinda stupid but fun while it lasted..
