Meeting William Sanderson
Had a great day today, went along with my son to Milton Keynes in the UK where William Sanderson was attending a Convention. He was very friendly and was happy to talk about Blade Runner especially now it was up for re release. I asked him if he was contacted about the special edition but all the info he had was that it was going to be re-released in the cinema. He also mentioned that Joanna Cassidy heard on the grape vine about re shooting some scenes and phoned William to see if he new anything about it. She was approached sometime after but he said he would not let on what she had done. I also asked about Pris hurting herself on the Armadillo van and he said that she did not say anything about untill she had finished shooting the sequence. About Ridley he said that he got on really well with him and said that he wanted to have Sabastien portrayed as an inocent man. He also said of Ridley that he did not get on with the American film crew( which we all know) because they were slow, worked to rule, lacked the dedication and professionalism of a UK crew.
William said that Ridley had a great saying when the crew were not doing things right, he said" it's basics gentleman"
I got some pictures of "Sabastian" signing my original script that i took along with me that also has Joseph Turkells auto on it.
