Hi, I'm a total fan of BR (naturally) but I'm also into writing OpenGL programs. One particular idea that has been waiting to be developed for some time is a [decent] BladeRunner Screensaver (ie: not just another movie/image based naff screensaver.)

I want to create a 3D based screensaver using hardware accelerated OpenGL code. I'm throwing this idea out to the forum because I need your input, any ideas, models, textures, artists, coders, etc etc etc just post your responses here and we'll see where it leads us

One of the members of this forum, ReplicantDreams (which we haven't heard from in a while), has an awesome screensaver website with sound and everthing. It's really cool, but I can't remember the exact URL. I'm sure someone else here that knows it will post it after reading this.

The URL you're looking for is
http://www.imagemage.com/ReplicantDreams/
I used to comment on his beautiful site (in the old forum,I think) and Replicant Dreams was a very active member belonging to the forum longer than myself, I do believe.
You can also click the link to his site under his profile. While there,I noticed that his last comment was posted on Sept.07,2001 - Shortly before the attack on America. Now, I'm a bit worried. Maybe I'll try and contact him through the info he has provided.

I'm back! First, my apologies for being away for so long, seriously. I've been on a monster project at work, which ends New Year's Eve, but things are starting to slacken off a bit and I have time to jump online again for more than just checking e-mail. Again, my humble apologies, and thanks to all the kind words expressed here. It's good to be back, and I'll be posting more often, and updating my site more often too. In fact, to make up for my apalling lack of activity (I'm flaming myself; that's gotta be an internet first!) I put up two more 3D images on my site if anyone wants to check them out. Second, thanks to all of you who DO post on this site for keeping it active, and to Gary, Paul and the whole BladeZone staff for their work. I've missed you guys!!

Hi all. Yes, I'm back - somewhat. The good news is I have finished my project at work, ending 3 months of 70+ hour weeks. The bad news is I, along with 25% of my company, were terminated today due to budget shortages. So if I disappear again, I WILL be back. You guys are great; I miss reading all these posts. This is without a doubt the most intelligent forum and website on the internet. Talk to all of you soon!
