"If I Didn't Care" or "One More Kiss Dear&quo

Both songs have appeared in BR, depending on the version you watch.

Which do you prefer? I'm not sure how else to put the question. Both feel right at home in BR, but I find that I cannot choose one or the other as my preference for the movie. I love them both to death.

It'd be great if both could be included [in BR], but oh well....

In case you forgot the lyrics:

If I Didn't Care (The Ink Spots)

If I didn't care more than words can say
If I didn't care would I feel this way?
If this isn't love then why do I thrill?
And what makes my head go 'round and 'round
While my heart stands still?

If I didn't care would it be the same?
Would my ev'ry prayer begin and end with just your name?
And would I be sure that this is love beyond compare?
Would all this be true if I didn't care for you?

If I didn't care honey child, mo' than words can say.
If I didn't care baby, would I feel this way?
Darlin' if this isn?t love, then why do I thrill so much?
What is it that makes my head go 'round and 'round
while my heart just stands still so much ?

If I didn't care would it be the same?
Would my ev'ry prayer begin and end with just your name?
And would I be sure that this is love beyond compare?
Would all this be true if I didn't care for you?

One more kiss, dear (Vangelis)

One more kiss, dear
One more sigh
Only this, dear
Its goodbye
For our love is such pain
And such pleasure
And Ill treasure till I die
So for now, dear
Aurevoir, madame

But Im how-dye, not farewell
For in time we may have a loves glory
Our love story to tell

Just as every autumn
Leaves fall from the tree
Tumble to the ground and die
So in the springtime
Like sweet memories
They will return as will i

Like the sun, dear
Upon high
Well return, dear
To the sky
And well banish the pain and the sorrow
Until tomorrow goodbye
One more kiss, dear
One more sigh
Only this, dear
Is goodbye
For our love is such passion
And such pleasure
And Ill treasure till I die

Like the sun, dear
Upon high
Well return, dear
To the sky
And well banish the pain and the sorrow
Until tomorrow goodbye
[In reference to A Good Year] "So anyway, fuck 'em. It was a good film."

I like One More Kiss Dear a little better, but lyrics from If I Didn't Care are more appropriate in the film context... Deckard just retired Zhora and then come those words... like the bar radio was tuned into his brain "if I didn't care, more than words can say... if I didn't care would I feel this way?"

Both are good tunes. But my alliance is to Vangelis. :)

"One More Kiss Dear" is a fine song, and certainly contributes to the Film Noir feeling of Blade Runner, but "If I Didn't Care" does the same AND (as Centauro said) just WORKS in the context of the film. It's a shame that it couldn't be used in the theatrical release; I prefer it.
"It would only take a nudge to make you like me; to push you out of the light."

"If I Didn't Care" was Ridley's first choice and was dropped due to licensing issues (I think).

Although I do like "One More Kiss Dear", I prefer the Ink Spots' song.
