Knowledge about Blade Runner, I assume. You should watch the two main versions Theatrical 1982 release (not on DVD, AFAIK) and BR Director's Cut, 1992, in that order. Then read the book by Philip K Dick 'Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?' [or read the novel first and then watch the movie, as you like].

After that, you could try to get a copy of Paul Sammon's 'Future Noir'. The rest will come naturally. BladeZone is on top of the WebSites.?, and you can learn a lot in this forums, like we all do.

My very personal advice: If you intend to read Jetter's "sequels" BR2 and BR3, don't do it until you've done everything else. If you don't intend so, ...well, you won't miss anything.

I got my copy at amazon.
Also, its worhtwile to cheak out the Blade Runner FAQ thats on the net, its tells you alot, and allthough not as detailed at Future Noir, its good, as it free! Allthough I can't actually find the site at the moment, I do have it on my pooter, so if anyone wants it, email me.

Basically, the book to buy is "Future Noir" which is most excellent. On the web of course you are already at an excellent site. Another site (already mentioned) that you should visit is BRmovie (with FAQ and loads else). And then why not drop in on the Usenet newsgroup alt.fan.blade-runner
