Just curious if anyone has heard of a Blade Runner showing in recent years. Like perhaps at a $1.00 or midnight theater. A theater near me shows a fair amount of '80s films like Indiana Jones, Goonies, etc. repeatedly from time to time, and I always pray that I will see BR on their midnight showing list, but I doubt it will ever happen. I would consider traveling a descent distance if it did happen to pop up at a theater somewhere.

I have posted before that the Eastman House Museum's Dryden theatre here in Rochester, New York has shown both the directors cut and the origional theatrical cut in recent years. The Eastman House(George Eastman creator of strip film and movie film) shows classic films on a regular Basis and when I talked to the presenter after the last showing I talked with him about the workprint and he said he was very interested in "borrowing it" for a showing there. He told me he had read about it in the Paul M. Sammon book Future Noir and promised me that at least the directors cut would show again there since they now have it in their personal archives. I will be sure to allert the board When they next schedual it for a showing. It isn't on their current schedual as of yet. I am curious to which of the forum members would come here if it were shown?

Cool. I live in VA but I would definitely be willing to travel there for a showing. I would probably just take a mini-vacation and spend the rest of the time in NYC. So let us know!
BTW, how far upstate is Rochester from NYC?

yep...almost opposite sides of the state. Closer to Toronto and Cleveland than NYC. Real close to Buffalo and Syracuse.

Nowhere near Denver but in the UK one of our cinema chains runs what is called the directors chair, Blade Runner was shown early evening in one of the medium size auditoriums and to my absolute delight and (shock) it was almost full. Most of the audience was approx 45/6 years old with some bringing their sons. In fact it was interesting to note that it was a male dominated audience. One other great thing, there was absolutly no noises, talking, getting up for a drink russling bags of sweets etc, just people taking in the whole experience on the big screen. Wonderfull.

Can't believe I live here, and I haven't found a screening yet, but does anyone know where in L.A. it has been shown or will be?
