Anyone catch the ?Hidden Art of Hollywood? last night on PBS. It featured a great segment on Blade Runner and an interview with Lawrence Paull. They really showed a great deal of reverence for the art direction in Blade Runner (the only SciFi film that was featured). It was in very good company, some of the other films singled-out were Citizen Kane, Chinatown, The Godfather, North by Northwest and Gone With the Wind. It airs again on Sunday afternoon. It?s worth checking out.

You are very welcome,Wilkins. I had been planning to watch this show for a while but my jaded, cynical side said,"They won't have a damn thing about BR". Glad I was wrong. It's an entertaining 5-6 minutes.

Rutger Hauer is the man. Besides improvising some of the best and most profound lines in BR... After seeing what the art direction had accomplished on the set (which incidently took 9 months to create) with old cables, packing materials and other items that were used to create the look of weathered,old,non-working,futuristic buildings etc., he was quoted commenting, "The future is old".
I liked it so much I've added it to my sig. 8)
