Blade Runner mention in USA Today

Anyone catch the snippet about Blade Runner in Friday's USA today:

Blade Runner, a commercial flop with just $27.6 million in ticket sales, is regarded by many aficionados as the genre's best since 1968's 2001. But purists have yet to forgive Hollywood for mucking up the film, based on Philip K. Dick's Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?

Dick's novel ends with bounty hunter Rick Deckard committing suicide. But in the 1982 film, Ford's Deckard drives off into the sunset with a comely robot played by Sean Young.

.....

They get the part about Deckard committing suicide wrong and also get the ticket sales wrong (probably confused it with the final cost ... don't these guys do research before they write something?) but it was good to see Blade Runner get some attention.

wtf? someone should correct them (maybe i will). its way wrong, and they shouldnt be able to print something so misleading, even if it does mention blade runner.

this is almost as bad as UPN showing the original version of blade runner a few weeks ago. it was soooooooo cut up, major parts of the movie were skipped (obvious music jumps and scene cuts). it wasnt even blade runner the way UPN showed it.

if they cant do it right, they shouldnt do it at all. where's the email to contact them?

It's horrible what some TV networks do to movies, eh. I thinks it outrageous violence on art!

Disgusting.

It is just hard to believe that one of the most futuristic, milestone movies of all time, flopped at the Box Office. I had no idea.

It must have taken off when it became available on Betamax & VHS. I know for sure as young turks, it was most definately in our cult classic VHS collection!
