I agree with the minimalist approach, anything showing weaponry is definitely sending out the wrong message. This aint an Arnie movie!
The one piece of technology in the film I've always thought carries a sinister/hi-tech type icon is the VK machine, and that has never dated. Also the 'Eye' imagery (as used at the beginning and with the VK) is striking and relevant.
And whilst I'm in full swing, why keep the lettering of 'Blade Runner' done in the style it is. When the movie starts ''Blade Runner'' as the title is done in straight no-nonense lettering, as is ''Los Angeles November 2019''. That intro always looks good to me and sends a shiver up my spine. It might look good on a DVD case. Yes?

i'd like the poster to be the one for the unrated verision (i forgot which version) where deckardis running towrds the camera on the roof, and the spinner looks like its chasing him. its almost looks black and white.
that, or just one with a black background, like you guys suggested, and the blade runner running man logo.
