According to Paul Sammon, author of 'Future Noir', PKD wrote Electric Sheep after reading the diaries of an SS Concentration Camp officer.
Dick concluded that the Nazi's lack of emotional response, or empathy, for the suffering they were inflicting denied them the label of 'human'.
(See 'On the Edge of Blade Runner' for the account)
So I ask, is this topic within the spirit of Blade Runner?
Do we need to dissect this subject as if we were each Dr. Mengele?

Do we _need_ to dissect it?

No

Do we like to do such a thing and enjoy it greatly?

You bet we do.

This is where my fandom for the Terminator trilogy comes in, well, more so T1 and T2.

When asked, a human member of the resistance once said, "Pain can be controlled. You just disconnect it."

...and the Terminator defined his experience in the sequal...,"I sense injury. The data could be called pain."

Interesting topic. ...for what my post is worth to it. :)
